Sound Walk and Recording Workshop at Cremisan Valley

As part of Radio Al Hara’s 6 Year Anniversary program, the Wonder Cabinet and Radio Al Hara are organizing a sound walk and gathering at the places that inspired, and continue to, many of the radio’s projects and sounds.

In this walk, participants will learn about the history of the Cremisan Valley, the nature it embodies along with the types of plants and species it hosts. The tour will also pass through the Sound Sculptures conceived in the valley as part of the Sounds of Places 2024 by artists-in-residence.

Finally, participants are invited to record sounds as an exercise of collective listening and communicating through “earmarked” sounds. Recordings can be of any sound that grabs your interest whether it be the sounds of nature, people, or the tour guide.

These recordings will be collected and reworked into a broadcasted episode on Radio al Hara, orchestrating how the sounds we notice are also a matter of personal perspectives and biases.

Join us on a sound walk and recording workshop through the Cremisan Valley featuring sound sculptures amongst nature. Lunchboxes will be provided.
