AL.Berlin is proud to present
The Dwarfs of East Agouza
Assembled in Cairo by free thinkers and explorers, The Dwarfs of East Agouza are a trio composed of Maurice Louca, Sam Shalabi, and Alan Bishop, three musicians with long and defiant résumés that cross over a myriad of languages, cartographies, and expressions. Born collectively in 2012 in the Agouza District, their music merges the repetitive hypnosis of krautrock, the emancipatory spirit of free jazz, pulsating beats, and the energy of Egyptian shaabi music into a perpetual motion that recognizes no boundaries, real or imagined.
Opening the night is gega.fisk, two artists who share their personal experiences as manifestations of their own
reality, translated through music and socio-critical poetry. Their bass-driven sounds encapsulate emotional
journeys through odd soundscapes and irregular beats.
At the bar floor, the AL.Crew will keep the energy alive all night long with perfect beats and sounds from around the globe, setting the atmosphere just right.
This event will be held at a private members' space near Jannowitzbrücke, Berlin. If you are not already a member of the space, you will need to become a member at the door for an annual membership fee of 5€.
