On June 16, the first Refugee Welcome Week in the Netherlands will take place at Cinetol. We’re so excited to kick it off with all of you!
We will come together to explore Culture as Resistance and Radical Hope. From reflections on memory and identity to discussions about collective artistic work, the day invites us to listen, question, and allow ourselves to imagine new possibilities.
The evening closes with sound and visual performances that embody resilience and the power of radical hope in motion.
Refugee Welcome Week (RWW) is a week of solidarity rooted in radical hope, resilience, and social justice. From June 16–22, RWW invites communities across the Netherlands to come together through events, workshops, art, music, food, and storytelling, centering refugees and migrants as active contributors to society. In this space, we embrace hope not as passive optimism but as an act of defiance against systems of oppression, challenging exclusionary policies and imagining a future where all belong.
