Wanasa وناسةA musical session at Alhamra.We are excited to invite you to our 3rd musical session of Wanasa - وناسة - an evening of curated soundscapes and music listening in the intimate space of Al Hamra Café on Saturday, 24 May 2025 at 8pm. This session we are inviting Habib Shehade Hanna - A Palestinian Composer and Oud and Bozouq player for a live music workshop exploring basic musical principles, the role of music, differences between Arabic and Western styles, oud techniques, and expression in Arabic music through theater and film. HannaPalestinian Composer and Oud & Bozouq Player Habib Shehadeh Hanna is a renowned Palestinian musician, award-winning composer, and a song writer. Habib is a mastered the Arabic Oud from a young age, completed his academic studies in Musicology and Composition in Hebrew University- Jerusalem. He has synthesized his many musical influences to compose genre defying material for a vast range of influential projects. As a song writer working with Palestinian and Arab household names, and composer for many critically acclaimed film and theatre projects, and several albums, including Mahmoud Darweesh's masterpiece work of poetry The Mural, his music has touched audiences at prestigious festivals and events in Europe, the Middle East, Japan, Australia USA and across the world. Habib worked on many music collaboration with musicians from Europe, Africa, North America and Asia.Previously filled the position of director of the National Conservatory of Palestine (NCM) where he also taught Oud Bozouq, music theory, composition and trained student ensembles and choirs. As a composer and performer, Hanna has worked with various musicians and music ensembles, and they have performed in different countries around the world within, Kamilya Jubran (Palestine), Aka Moon, Fabian Fiorinni (Belguim), Baladna (Zanzibar), Broadsky Quartet and Lore Lexinberg, Fitzwilliam Quarter (England), Noe' Clerck Trio (France). Besides his managerial, teaching, and performing skills, Hanna also composes music for theatrical performances, and musicals. One of the most important among these theatrical productions is "Mural": Mahmoud Darwish's masterpiece. In addition, he composes music for documentaries and feature films the latest was "Let There be a morning" for Eran Kolirin. Besides to "The Band's Visit" for which nominated for the best music composer (Offir), "Holy Air" for which nominated for the best music in Montpellier film festival, " The Idol" and "Personal Affairs" and others. He released 6 Albums the latest was "Yaa'lo". He published curriculum for theoretical music at the NCM. Since 2007, he is the general director of Al-Mashghal-*The Factory- Arab Center for Arts and Culture' in Haifa, within it he produced a lot of his work and published the "Music Dictionary" in 2015. He finished his composition for Umayma al Khalil, a Lebanese singer. Since 2020 he is a Teacher at Bier Zet University where he teaches Composition, Arabic Classical History andOud.---
