Guernica - Gaza: Visions from the Centre of the Earth

The Organizers

ASHTAR Theatre ASHTAR Theatre

ASHTAR Theatre invites to watch a new original production written and produced during the genocidal war on Gaza 2023/2024.

Inspired by Picasso's 'Guernica', the play features five seemingly detached yet connected characters who come out of a 'hellscape' of war.

The play, with its hallucinatory direction, delves into the effect of genocidal war on its victims and witnesses. It explores themes of loss, hope, resilience and dehumanisation of Palestinians as well as raises urgent questions about interconnectedness of state-sponsored violence affecting the entire ecosystem.
