Founded in 1991 in Ramallah, Palestine, ASHTAR Theatre is a leading cultural institution using theatre for social change, education, and artistic expression. Co-founded by Iman Aoun and Edward Muallem, it empowers individuals, amplifies marginalized voices, and promotes freedom of expression.

ASHTAR is globally known for its innovative "Theatre of the Oppressed" approach, addressing social and political issues. Its acclaimed project, The Gaza Monologues, shares testimonies from young Palestinians and has been performed in over 62 countries.
