For the fourth year, AL.Berlin joins ALFILM Festival to present the official festival party at Festsaal Kreuzberg.
Starting at 19:00 and continuing until 04:00, the evening moves from a Biergarten opening with Guy Dermosessian’s vinyl set into a full night program in the Kaminzimmer. Highlights include a rare Berlin return by Alsarah & The Nubatones, a special Meshwar Mixtapes edition “Sudan Resists” by Lubna, and DJ sets by Edna Martinez and DumTak.
Blending live music, listening sessions, and dancefloor energy, the night reflects this year’s festival focus on Sudan.
For the fourth consecutive year, AL.Berlin joins forces with ALFILM Festival to present the official festival party, part of the 17th edition’s rich and expansive program.
Taking place at Festsaal Kreuzberg, the event unfolds as an extended evening-to-dawn gathering, bringing together live performance, DJ sets, and curated listening sessions. Doors open at 19:00 in the venue’s Biergarten, where Beirut-born DJ and record collector Guy Dermosessian sets the tone with a carefully selected vinyl session, accompanied by AL.Berlin’s signature Arak bar. The program then moves into the Kaminzimmer, where the night continues until dawn…
Following this year’s ALFILM spotlight on Sudan, a central highlight of the evening is the live performance by Alsarah & The Nubatones. Returning to Berlin after more than seven years, the Brooklyn-based group presents their distinctive “East African retro-pop” sound, shaped by themes of migration, cultural exchange, and Nubian musical traditions. Their latest album, Seasons of the Road (Mawasim Altariq), continues this exploration through rich pentatonic arrangements and contemporary storytelling.
The night opens with a special edition of Meshwar Mixtapes, “Sudan Resists”, curated by Lubna Abdalla. This listening session offers a deeply personal and political sonic journey through the ongoing Sudanese struggle, blending music, storytelling, and lived experience to reflect on resistance, loss, and resilience.
Colombian Caribbean DJ, producer, and curator Edna Martinez brings her signature fusion of champeta and Picó sound system culture to the dancefloor. Based in Berlin, Martinez is known for connecting Afro-Caribbean traditions with diasporic and global club sounds, creating vibrant, cross-cultural musical narratives. Her work spans major international stages and curatorial platforms, and she is a Keychange Talent 2026 artist.
Closing the night, DumTak, a Palestinian-Jordanian DJ and filmmaker based in Berlin and resident of ADIRA, delivers an energetic set rooted in Arabic musical heritage—bridging classic hits, contemporary sounds, and electronic influences in a celebratory hafla that carries the audience into the early morning hours.
