‏In the summer of 2021, a group of Palestinian female and male writers met to engage in a collective experience, named “The Body of Speech”. They were seeking to broaden their writing experience through trying their texts on stage. “Home” was their theme of choice which they studied from several approaches; intellectual, cultural, and literary. Together, they discussed, developed, and practiced rehearsing the theme on stage. They then experimented with conjuring a literary-theatrical show that recounts the story of their home(s), of places and their memory, of what is left of childhood, of chaos and order, of sadness, of carton boxes, of olive seasons, of photographic albums …. The story of a profusion of emotions and meanings concealed in words in which we dwell—the words of our daily lives and usual writings; the ones we’re accustomed to.
